Things to Look for in Long-Term Rentals | Rent An Island Paradise

A long-term rental in the Key West area allows you to extend your vacation, become acclimated in the area, and truly enjoy some extended time off. Unlike a short-term stay, you will have specific elements to look for that cater to long-term rentals. The features of a home can make a big difference on your day-to-day vacation life and allow you to settle in a lot easier.

Check out some of the elements to look for and ways to fully enjoy a Key West rental.

1. Multiple Bathrooms

If you go on vacation for five to seven days, you can usually make some sacrifices with a hotel bathroom or a single bathroom. When you stay at a location for nearly a month, you practically live in the building and will need to develop a more regular routine. Seek out a location with multiple bathrooms.

Extra baths, toilets, and showers make it a lot easier for your family and friends to establish a routine and get ready each morning. Locations with double vanity sinks also makes it easier to set up bathroom items like toothbrushes, makeup, and other beauty products. Easily spread items out and give everyone their own space.

2. Cleaning Amenities

In hotels and short-term rentals, cleaning tasks are not often the biggest priority. When you stay at a location for longer, then you may make daily cleaning more of a priority. Many Key West visitors will spend days with visits to the beach. Sand will eventually track into the home. Check long-term rentals for items like brooms and vacuums to keep the location tidy.

You might also want a long-term rental with a washer and dryer. Chances are, you will reuse many of the outfits, and you likely do not want to have to waste vacation time to look for a laundry service. A washer and dryer will also help if you have wet bathing suits and outfits you often wear to the beach.

3. Cooking and Dining Options

On a short vacation, you may choose to eat out often and try restaurants. When you stay for a longer amount of time, you can save money and stay practical with appliances. Check to see what kinds of appliances you can cook with. Along with an oven and stove, look for extras like toasters, microwaves, and an air fryer.

Sometimes, a home rental may include a grill for outdoor cooking. Also, look into the dining options for the home. Some homes may include both indoor and outdoor dining areas. As you enjoy Key West weather, you and other guests can dine outside often and have more room to spread out food while you eat.

4. Nearby Shopping and Delivery Options

As you plan meals, you probably want to get to know the local area a little better. Search the rental property on a map, and then find what stores and shopping options are available nearby. A majority of the shopping will probably relate to food purchases, but you may need to shop for other items as well.

As you plan out shopping destinations, look for locations with clothes or home items. For example, you may need some sweatshirts if nights get too cold. You may need more shampoo if you run out of travel bottles or do not want to travel with big bottles. You can pack a lot less when you know what items are easy to shop for nearby.

Some places may be within walking distance and allow you to explore on foot. You may also find large shopping plazas nearby that can supply you with everything you need in a single trip.
